rainbows

This is the first time I have seen a rainbow since arriving here in Sydney... It felt really good to see one in the sky... After all the terrible weather we have endured this weekend which was suppose to be the worse seen in the last 30 years... Hunter Valley and many parts of NSW are flooded and damaged... The bad news is the dam did not receive much of the rain... As usual they are built in the wrong place... sigh what can I say?

Am writing my assignment for EHE 908... Am glad that this is the last ICT paper I am doing... Well have other challenges at the moment... Am body burping a lot and it is a challenge when there is company around... It is terrible as no matter what I do, when the night falls, the tum tum acts up... Will have to find a more permanent solution to the present problem...

Rainbows have this wonderful ability to make people feel all warm and fuzzy... I wonder what exactly brings out that emotion in people or what is it that makes people react so positively to the sight of the rainbow?

Anyway back to the assignment before it is too late...

gail force winds

Sydney is being battered by a rather interesting weather system... The winds are howling through the city and a tanker carrying 700 tonnes of fuel has run aground at Newcastle... Quite a sight to behold on the tv... Oh and there are no ferries to Manly thanks to 5 meter swells in the harbor...There is no point using an umbrella in this sort of wind, yet people would still try and all they get for their gallant effort is an upturned umbrella and getting wet themselves... Don't think it is wise to be out there either on foot or in a car as the wind is that strong... The safest place to be in inside the house watching all the action... Well at least there is hope that the dam is collecting some much needed water from this lashing... The rain is suppose to get heavier tonight... Great start to the long weekend isn't it? I love the sound of the wind and rain hitting everything but the downside is that the wind is gusting so strongly that I have to have the window shut unless I want a free clean of the inside of my room...

Great day to be sung as a bug in a rug and just curl up to do nothing but reality is that there is still an assignment that needs completion and well guess I better get on to it right now... Thank goodness it is more than half way there word limit wise but still needs work and polishing...

last day....

It was the last day of lectures for me today... Feels weird in a way as it didn't seem that long ago that I started on this new adventure... But now the semester is winding down to a close... I have just completed the last assignment for EDL 901 and it is one of those "What Have You Learnt?" reflective essays... Sigh... had the biggest mental block for the longest time and well am so happy to see it completed... Now will just have to reread it before posting it tomorrow... Then it would be on to 908 to dot he major assignment that is due on tuesday- thank goodness for Queen's birthday long weekend...

Anyway time for bed... I need my beauty sleep and it is cooler now and it is optimum for sleeping...

first day of winter

Hmm...technically it is the first day of winter but the days are still full of sunshine and are quite warm... But the nights are much cooler which is a nice change... The clouds are weird tonight as they are still quite bright and it is after 2100 at night... Guess things are all funny... Am actually curled up in bed writing this... Will have to tidy my room after this as all my readings are all over the place and I don't think I want paper as my floor cover...

My latest fad is fruits... I seem to have found great pleasure once again in eating them... Especially the navel oranges which are so sweet and juicy... But trying to get 5 servings of vegetable proves to be a challenge at times... Think I am exceeding my fruit serving but well at least they are healthy and not empty calorie food...

Went to Chatswood today and it sure felt good to be able to get out of the house just for a bit... I walked the shops and the streets just browsing around... Found that there is a Crabtree and Evelyn store and there was a sale going on in there but I came out with nothing from there... Had a lot of fun window shopping... Plus I had my wonderful novel to keep my company which was great... I can't seem to put it down at the moment which is bad- there are assignments that need to be completed...

Sigh... back to work...
